What is paintless dent repair (PDR)?

Paintless dent repair is a method of removing dents without sanding, filling, or repainting. Specialized tools are used to gently reshape the metal from behind the panel or with glue pulling techniques—preserving your vehicle’s original factory finish.  Find out more here.

What types of dents can you fix?

Most minor to moderate dents can be repaired, including:

  • Door dings

  • Creases

  • Hail damage

  • Dents on body lines (depending on severity)

If the paint is intact, there’s a very good chance it can be repaired with PDR, even on some larger dents.

Can you fix dents with chipped or cracked paint?

If the paint is damaged, PDR may not be the best option. In those cases, a body shop repair is usually recommended.  If you are okay with using a small amount of touch up paint after the repair, I may be worth getting a quote from.  I’ll always point you in the right direction based on what makes the most sense for the final result.

Do you offer mobile service?

Yes — My Dent Shop LLC is a fully mobile paintless dent repair service. I come to your home or workplace anywhere in Connecticut for most repairs.

How much does dent repair cost?

Pricing depends on:

  • Size of the dent

  • Location on the panel

  • Depth and severity

  • Material (steel vs. aluminum)

The fastest way to get a quote is to submit photos through the website. Most quotes are provided the same day during business hours.  Take multiple photos, including standing far enough back that I can tell where on the panel the dent is located.  You can submit the photos here.

Do you provide in-person estimates?

I typically do not make separate trips just for estimates, with few exceptions. Approximate quotes are done through photos to save time for both of us. If you are okay with the approximation and want to move forward with the repair, we’ll schedule a convenient time for me to drive to you for an accurate assessment and repair.

How long does a repair take?

Most average repairs take 1–3 hours, depending on the complexity. Larger or more difficult dents may take longer.  Smaller dents might be faster.

Will the dent be completely gone?

In most cases, yes—especially when the paint is undamaged. The goal is to restore the panel as close to factory condition as possible. I’ll always set clear expectations before starting the repair.

Can you repair aluminum panels?

Yes, but aluminum and high strength steel are more difficult to work with than mild steel. They can still be repaired with PDR, but it may require more time and specialized techniques.

Do you work with insurance?

Yes — I work with all insurance companies. If your dent qualifies, PDR can often be covered under your claim, and you would only be responsible for your deductible.

Why choose PDR over a body shop?

  • Keeps your original factory paint

  • No fillers or repainting

  • Faster turnaround

  • Maintains vehicle value (no Carfax report from repaint work)
